Becoming a Creature WIP

So for this project, we are turning ourselves into a creature of some sorts.  While I have yet to determine what I will be blended with, I figured it would be best to start modeling just plain old me.  I used techniques I learned earlier in the quarter to model a base mesh of my head with proper topology for animation.  I am in the process of refining and tweaking details in Zbrush.

Creature Bust Retopologized!

Starting from a sphere gives a character very bad edge flow.  Bad edge flow can lead to a lot of problems, especially when facially animating.  I used Topo Gun for the first time to retopo this guy giving him proper edge loops.  I left his mouth and eyes open so that I can later go in and create bags for those areas.

48 Hour Art Test 2 WIP

Admiring the works of industry veteran, Mr. Jordu Schell, I am attempting to take on (try my best) sculpting out "Amphibious."  His website can be viewed here: http://schellstudio.com/ This is what I have so far:

Say hello to my little friend! (WIP)

I was browsing the Internet for awesome concepts and stumbled upon Timur Mutsaev.  His website is AWESOME featuring some really impressive artwork and sketches dating back to the late 1980s and early 1990s.  Some of his more recent work includes concept art from Crysis 2!

The model I am working on now is based on Mr. Mutsaev's artwork seen here:

I am changing my workflow for this particular work moving from high poly to low.  Here is the beginning of my high poly rendered in Mental Ray (AO.)

Anatomy Study - The Arm!

After referencing in detail the works of Scott Spencer and Stephen Rogers Peck, I focused all my attention into the musculature of the arm.  I'm pretty happy with the result.
